Tyre damages:
Modern tyres are high tech products and thus resilient. Nevertheless they are not immune to damages inflicted during operation (e.g. by traversing kerbs improperly). This can result in a creeping loss of pressure, rusting belt wires, or even in the tread coming off. Particularly at high speeds these damages constitute grave hazards.
Therefore you should take the trouble to inspect your tyres from time to time or have an expert take a look. Cuts, tears, bulges or broken pieces of tread are suspicious signs, as are intruded objects such as nails. When inspecting the tyre, note that it also has an interior surface which is difficult for you to inspect. So you better ask the tyres expert who can tell you whether a replacement is necessary or not. Irregular wear of the tread can often be observed. This is always an alarm signal. The causes for this can mostly be found in the chassis or the steering. The brakes or an unbalance of the wheel can also result in irregular wear. In such a case you should immediately consult an expert, otherwise you might soon be in for another replacement of your tyres.
